Sustainability Weekend 2013 was a weekend of learning, laughing and languishing in the beauty of our surroundings at Tomahawk Creek Farm!
Workshop attendees learned about Ultimate Organic Skincare, Textile Dyeing and building their own earth oven from facilitators Amy Hazel, Dana Shaffer and Pete Klinkhammer.
We were treated to exquisite meals from some of Stone County’s favorite gardeners and cooks including RC & Janie Schroeder, Kayt Matheson Fossler and Trish Stewart. Not only were all the meals delicious and featured some of our cooks favorite dishes, but we were extremely blessed that they included a 100% garden-to-table dinner…for 23 people…from Trish Stewart at Star Gap farm. A rare treat indeed!
Saturday’s events were topped off by a poignant concert performed by the musical group, Finnegan’s Wake.
Thanks to Terri Van Orman and the Arkansas Craft School and Jamie Murawski and Tomahawk Creek Farm for partnering with us on our first Sustainability Weekend. We look forward to partnering again to host more events that will inform and inspire citizens of and visitors to Stone County!
